  • "Wall" is a completely misleading way to describe an eruv. Normally - although I can't necessarily speak for this beach example - it is a piece of string that is laid on the same path as telephone wires from pole to pole. It's not a fence. It's not a wall.

  • Have you guys ever seen an eruv before? If not, I'm not quite sure that you quite understand exactly what it is and how (normally) unobtrusive it is. Speaking solely of the church-state aspects, battles have been fought in court before and everytime, the eruv side wins. Really.

  • Nintendo is (and always has) reached out to the broadest possible audience. The Wii is doing just that -- not focusing on the hardcore gamers who will pay $600 for a PS3, but the casual gamers, the kids, etc. I think it will help them in the long run.

  • Thanks for the tip Donald. I'm not such a fan of the "insert the image text" checkers, mostly because of the garbled-ness of most of them. Are all of these words easy to read, etc?
